Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Cadillac ATS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Non V-Series)
  2. Remove Front Air Deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement
  3. Remove Engine Compartment Lower Noise Shield. Refer to Engine Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (All Wheel Drive)
  4. Disconnect any harnesses or retainers secured to the front lower control front link. Note any attaching points to aid in installation.

    NOTE:

    Do NOT allow the ball stud to rotate while loosening the nut.

  5. Loosen the steering knuckle nut (1).

    Do NOT remove the nut.

  6. Use the CH-43631  separator (1) to separate the front lower control front link from the steering knuckle.

  7. Remove the steering knuckle nut (1).

  8. Remove the front lower control front link nut (1).
  9. Remove the front lower control front link bolt (3).

    DISCARD the bolt.

  10. Remove the front lower control front link (2) from the steering knuckle ball joint (4).
