Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the shift control assembly from the vehicle. Refer to Shift Control Assembly Replacement (M3L) Shift Control Assembly Replacement (MG9) .
    2. Fig 1: Gear Position Sensor, Electrical Connector And Retainers

  2. Disconnect the gear position sensor electrical connector (1).
  3. Remove the four gear position sensor retainers (2).
    4. NOTE:

    Do Not remove component (4) from the mounting plate (3). These components are serviced as a assembly.

  4. Remove the gear position sensor assembly (3) from the transmission.
