Installation Procedure

- Carefully slide the upper intermediate steering shaft (2) through the intermediate steering shaft inner boot and the intermediate steering shaft boot from the inside of the vehicle.
- Extend the upper intermediate steering shaft (2) as far as possible and connect it to the mid intermediate steering shaft.
- Install Mid Intermediate Steering Shaft Bolt (1) and tighten 36 N.m (27 lb ft)
- Clean the threads of the bolt with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry.
- Apply thread locking adhesive to the bolt. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Inspect the two-piece boot (1) on the upper intermediate steering shaft and the connection point of the upper intermediate steering shaft and the mid intermediate steering shaft. Verify the connection point at the two steering shafts is assembled correctly and that the two-piece boot is NOT torn at any point. The two-piece boot is NOT serviceable. If the two-piece boot is torn, the entire upper intermediate steering shaft MUST be replaced.
