Installation Procedure

- Position the intermediate steering shaft (2) on the vehicle.
- Install Intermediate Steering Shaft (2) @Steering Gear
- Install Intermediate Steering Shaft Lower Bolt (1) and tighten 50 N.m (37 lb ft)
- Clean the threads of the bolt with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry.
- Apply thread locking adhesive to the bolt. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Install Mid Lower Intermediate Steering Shaft (2) @Intermediate Steering Shaft
- UNLOCK and turn the steering wheel so the mid lower intermediate steering shaft bolt (1) can be installed.
- Install Mid Lower Intermediate Steering Shaft Bolt (1) and tighten 36 N.m (27 lb ft)
- Clean the threads of the bolt with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry.
- Apply thread locking adhesive to the bolt. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
NOTE:
Install the intermediate steering shaft to the steering gear by pushing the shaft downward and forward along the axis of the steering gear shaft.
CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
NOTE:
Install the mid lower intermediate steering shaft to the intermediate steering shaft by pushing the shaft downward and forward along the axis of the intermediate steering shaft.
