Removal Procedure

If equipped with an engine block heater (K05), remove the engine block heater cord replacement. Refer to Coolant Heater Cord Replacement (LCV, LTG) .
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (ATS) .
If equipped with all-wheel drive, remove the front axle propeller shaft. Refer to Front Axle Propeller Shaft Replacement (LGX, LTG) .

Remove the starter solenoid fastener (2) and remove the starter solenoid cable (1).
Remove the starter solenoid ground cable fastener (3) and remove the starter solenoid ground cable (4).

Remove the starter solenoid ground cable fastener (2) and remove the starter solenoid ground cable (1).
Detach the heater cord retainer (3), if equipped.

Remove the following from the pre-fuse block:
- Battery Jumper Post Cover (1).
- Pre-Fuse Block Cover (2).
- Battery Positive Barrel Fastener (3).
- Battery Positive Cable (4).
- Starter Solenoid Cable (5).

Detach the starter solenoid cable retainers (1) from the engine harness and remove the starter solenoid cable (2) from the engine compartment.
