Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Cadillac ATS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
You must perform Circuit/System Verification before Circuit/System Testing.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the K176 Stop/Start Capacitor Control Module.
- Test for greater than 6.9 V between the B+ circuit terminal 6 and ground.
- If less than 6.9 V and the circuit fuse is good
- Ignition OFF, remove the test lamp.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the B+ circuit end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω, verify the fuse is not open and there is voltage at the fuse.
- If less than 6.9 V and the circuit fuse is open
- Ignition OFF, remove the test lamp.
- Test for infinite resistance between the B+ circuit and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance, replace the K176 Stop/Start Capacitor Control Module.
- If greater than 6.9 V
- Ignition OFF, reconnect the X1 harness connector at the K176 Stop/Start Capacitor Control Module, Ignition ON.
- Verify DTC P105E, DTC P105F, DTC P1061, DTC P1062, DTC P1067, DTC P106A, DTC P106B, DTC P106C, DTC P106D, DTC P1071, DTC P1072, DTC P1073, DTC P1080, DTC P1081, DTC P108A, DTC P108B, DTC P108C, DTC P108D, DTC P108E, DTC P108F, DTC P1090, or DTC P1091 is not set.
- If any of the DTCs are set
Replace the K176 Stop/Start Capacitor Control Module
- If none of the DTCs are set
- If any of the DTCs are set
- All OK
