Engine Front Cover Removal (LGX)

Preliminary Procedure If the oil pan needs removed it is easier to do before the front cover removal. Refer to Oil Pan Removal (LGX RWD) Oil Pan Removal (LGX AWD) . Ensure proper use of room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) sealant. Refer to Use of Room Temperature Vulcanizing (RTV) and Anaerobic Sealant
1	Oil Pump Flow Control Valve Electrical Connector NOTE: The retaining clips attached to the oil pump flow control solenoid wire are used for initial production only and should be removed and discarded.
2	Camshaft Position Actuator Control Valve Bolt (Qty: 2)
3	Camshaft Position Actuator Control Valve (Qty: 2) CAUTION: The camshaft position actuator valves must be removed from the front cover prior to front cover removal or damage to the valves may occur.
4	Engine Front Cover Bolt (Qty: 2)
5	Engine Front Cover Bolt NOTE: Part of engine mount on Front Wheel Drive version.
6	Engine Front Cover Bolt NOTE: Part of engine mount on Front Wheel Drive version.
7	Belt Idler Pulley - Model Dependent
8	Engine Front Cover Bolt (Qty: 16)
9	Engine Front Cover CAUTION: Do not use the jackscrew hole without first removing all engine front cover bolts. Failure to remove all engine front cover bolts before using the jackscrew hole could result in damage to components. CAUTION: Do not pry between the engine front cover and the camshaft position sensors or the camshaft position actuators in order to separate the RTV. Use the pry points and a bolt in the jackscrew hole in order to remove the engine front cover. Damage to the camshaft position sensors or the camshaft position actuators may occur if the camshaft position sensors or the camshaft position actuators are used to pry against in order to remove the engine front cover.
