Removal Procedure

- Remove Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield. Refer to Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (Front Wheel Drive)Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (All Wheel Drive)
- Remove Lower Oil Pan. Refer to Lower Oil Pan Replacement (AWD)Lower Oil Pan Replacement (RWD)
- Disconnect Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve Harness (1) @ Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve (2)
- Securely attach mechanics wire to the end of the oil pump flow control solenoid valve harness (1).
- Unclip Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve Harness (1) @ Retainer (3)
- Unclip Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve Harness (1) @ Crankshaft Oil Deflector (4)
- Disconnect Engine Wiring Harness (1)
- Remove Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve Harness Bolt (2)
- Remove the oil pump flow control solenoid valve harness (3) through the engine front cover.
NOTE:
Mechanics wire is used to guide the harness into place during installation, and must be of sufficient length to pass through the engine front cover from inside the oil pan.
NOTE:
Ensure the mechanics wire stays attached to the end of the harness during removal, and remains in place within the engine after harness removal. It will be used to guide the harness into place during installation.
NOTE:
The retaining clips attached to the oil pump flow control solenoid harness are used for initial production only and should be removed and discarded.
