The charge air coolant pump system is composed of one electric coolant pump and a control module. The engine control module (ECM) controls the pump speed by sending a pulse width modulated (PWM) signal to the charge air cooler coolant pump control module. The charge air cooler coolant pump control module varies the voltage drop across the coolant pump motor in relation to the pulse width modulated signal, which enables the coolant pump motor to operate at variable speeds.
