Installation Procedure

  1. Install the intermediate shaft housing assembly (1) to the intermediate wheel drive shaft.
    2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  2. Install the intermediate shaft housing mounting bolts (2) to the oil pan. Tighten the intermediate shaft housing assembly mounting bolts to 58 N.m (43 lb ft).

  3. Apply a small amount of lubricant to the intermediate wheel drive shaft splines. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
  4. Install a new O-ring (2) and the new wheel drive shaft retaining ring (1).
  5. Install the left front wheel drive shaft. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Left Side .
  6. Lower the vehicle.
