Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the front differential carrier. Refer to Front Axle Lubricant Replacement .
  2. Remove the right front wheel drive shaft. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Right Side .
  3. Lower the drivetrain and front suspension frame enough to access the carrier side cover bolts. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Removal and Installation (V-Series)Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Removal and Installation (Non V-Series) .

  4. Remove the carrier side cover bolts (1).
  5. Using the appropriate tool in the pry tabs, remove the carrier side cover (2).

  6. Remove the O-ring (1) from the carrier side cover (2).
