Preliminary Procedure Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Base)Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (V-Series) . Remove the rear axle shaft. Remove to Rear Axle Shaft Replacement (195/218mm Axles) .
1	Rear Axle Shaft Seal Procedure Using a suitable tool, remove the rear axle shaft seal. Using the DT-50871 installer , install the rear axle shaft seal. Check the differential carrier for the proper fluid level. Refer to Rear Axle Lubricant Level Inspection . Special Tools DT-50871 Pinion Seal Installer For regional equivalent tools, refer to Special Tools .

Remove the rear axle shaft. Remove to Rear Axle Shaft Replacement (195/218mm Axles) .

Rear Axle Shaft Seal

Procedure

Using a suitable tool, remove the rear axle shaft seal.
Using the DT-50871 installer , install the rear axle shaft seal.
Check the differential carrier for the proper fluid level. Refer to Rear Axle Lubricant Level Inspection .
