Circuit/System Testing

NOTE:

Circuit/System Verification must be performed before proceeding with Circuit/System Testing.

Set/Clr Switch Malfunction

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the A20 Radio/HVAC Controls.
  2. Ignition ON, test for greater than 4.8 V between the signal circuit terminal 5 and ground.
    • If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal replace the P16 Instrument Cluster.
  3. If all circuits tests normal, replace the A20 Radio/HVAC Controls.

UP, Down, or Menu Switch Malfunction

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the A20 Radio/HVAC Controls.
  2. While holding the A20 Radio/HVAC Controls UP arrow in the UP position, test for 0.55 - 0.65 k Ω between the signal circuit terminal 18 and the low reference terminal 6 at the switch.
    • If not within the specified range, replace the A20 Radio/HVAC Controls.
  3. While holding the A20 Radio/HVAC Controls DOWN arrow in the DOWN position, test for 1.5 - 1.7 k Ω between the signal circuit terminal 18 and the low reference terminal 6 at the switch.
    • If not within the specified range, replace the A20 Radio/HVAC Controls.
  4. While depressing the A20 Radio/HVAC Controls Menu button, test for 3.0 - 4.0k Ω between the signal circuit terminal 18 and the low reference terminal 6 at the switch.
    • If not within the specified range, replace the A20 Radio/HVAC Controls.
  5. If all circuits tests normal, replace P16 Instrument Cluster.
