Circuit/System Testing

NOTE:

Circuit/System Verification must be performed before proceeding with Circuit/System Testing.

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the ignition switch.
  2. Verify a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 2 and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  3. Disconnect the X3 harness connector at the body control module.
  4. Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit X3 terminal 15 and ground.
    • If less than specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground.
  5. Test for less than 1 V on the signal circuit terminal 4.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage.
  6. Test for less than 2Ω in the signal circuit end to end.
    • If greater than specified range test the signal circuit for a open/high resistance. If the circuit test normal, replace the S39 Ignition Switch.
  7. If the fault is still present replace the K9 body control module.
