Component Testing

- Perform the Circuit/System Testing first.
- Ignition Off.
- Connect the X175 harness connector.
- Remove the fluid pan from the T12 Automatic Transmission Assembly.
- Remove the control valve upper body.
- Disconnect X177 harness connector, ignition On.
- Test for 8.3-9.8 V between the 9 V reference 1 circuit terminal 3 and ground.
- If not between 8.3-9.8 V
Replace the automatic transmission wiring harness, electrical connector passage sleeve.
- If between 8.3-9.8 V
- If not between 8.3-9.8 V
- Connect the red lead of the J-38522 generator to the signal circuit terminal 6 and connect the black lead of the J-38522 generator to ground.
- Set the J-38522
generator to the specifications listed below:
- Signal switch to 5 V
- Frequency switch to 300 Hz
- Duty cycle switch to the 50% or the Normal position
- Verify the scan tool transmission input speed parameter is between 210-240 RPM.
- If not between 210-240 RPM
Replace the automatic transmission wiring harness, electrical connector passage sleeve.
- If between 210-240 RPM
- If not between 210-240 RPM
- Remove the B14D Transmission Intermediate Shaft Speed Sensor from the T12 Automatic Transmission Assembly.
- Verify there is no damage or misalignment with the machine slots on the outside diameter of the reaction carrier/output internal ring gear assembly and the B14D Transmission Intermediate Shaft Speed Sensor.
- If damage or misalignment
Repair or replace the necessary components.
- If no damage or misalignment
- If damage or misalignment
- Replace the B14D Transmission Intermediate Shaft Speed Sensor.
