Component Testing

  1. Perform the Circuit/System Testing first.
  2. Ignition Off, remove the transmission fluid pan from the T12 Automatic Transmission Assembly.
  3. Disconnect the harness connector from the B15 Transmission Internal Mode Switch.
  4. Connect a jumper wire between terminal 1 and terminal 2.
  5. Disconnect the X176 harness connector.
  6. Test for infinite resistance between terminal 12 and ground.
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the transmission control wiring harness.

    • If infinite
    1. Test for less than 2 Ω between terminal 12 and terminal 20.
    2. If 2 Ω or greater, replace the transmission control wiring harness.
    • If infinite resistance 
  7. Disconnect the jumper wire.
  8. Remove the automatic transmission wiring harness, electrical connector passage sleeve.
  9. Connect a jumper wire between terminal 12 and terminal 20.
  10. Test for infinite resistance between harness connector X175 terminal 30 and ground.
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the automatic transmission wiring harness, electrical connector passage sleeve.

    • If infinite
    1. Test for less than 2 Ω between terminal 30 and terminal 35.
    2. If 2 Ω or greater, replace the automatic transmission wiring harness, electrical connector passage sleeve.
    • If infinite resistance 
  11. Replace the B15 Transmission Internal Mode Switch.
