Circuit/System Verification

    NOTE:

    Replacing a K71 Transmission Control Module also requires a solenoid valve characterization reprogramming and a transmission service fast learn procedure.

  1. Ignition On.
  2. Verify DTC P0602 is not set.
    • If the DTC is set 
    1. Program the K71 Control Module.
    2. Verify the DTC does not set.
      • If the DTC sets, replace the K71 Transmission Control Module.
      • If the DTC does not set
    3. All OK.
    • If the DTC is not set 
  3. Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF.
  4. Disconnect the connector at the K71 Transmission Control Module.
  5. Verify and inspect each connector terminal of the K71 Transmission Control Module and terminals on the wire harness connector.
    • If the terminals are not OK 

      Repair or replace as necessary.

    • If the terminals are OK 
  6. Connect the connector at the K71 Transmission Control Module.
  7. Ignition ON.
  8. Clear DTC P0601, P0602, P0603, P0604, P0606, P062F, P16F3, P16F4 or P16FB from memory.
  9. Ignition Off and all vehicle system OFF.
  10. Ignition ON.
  11. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
  12. Verify DTC P0601, P0602, P0603, P0604, P0606, P062F, P16F3 or P16F4 is not set.
    • If any DTC are set 

      Replace the K71 Transmission Control Module.

    • If none of the DTCs set 
  13. All OK.
