Airbag Sensing and Diagnostic Module Replacement

Callout Component Name
WARNING:

Do not strike or jolt the inflatable restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM). Before applying power to the SDM, make sure that it is securely fastened. Failure to observe the correct installation procedure could cause Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.

WARNING:

Refer to SIR Warning .

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling 
  2. Front Floor Console Rear Air Duct Replacement (Front C59)Front Floor Console Rear Air Duct Replacement (Rear C59)
1 Airbag Sensing and Diagnostic Module Nut (Qty: 2)
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
9 N.m (80 lb in)
2 Airbag Sensing and Diagnostic Module

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  2. Perform the necessary programming and setup procedure:Control Module References
  3. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
