Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Drain the engine oil and remove the oil filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
  3. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LFX) .
  4. Remove the air conditioning (A/C) compressor bolts and reposition. DO NOT discharge the A/C system. Support the A/C compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LFX) .
  5. Remove the front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement .
  6. Remove the oil pan to transmission bolts.

  8. Remove the oil pan bolts.
  9. Remove the oil pan.
  10. Disassemble the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Disassemble .
  11. Clean the oil pan and the engine block gasket surface. Refer to Oil Pan Cleaning and Inspection .
