Preliminary Procedure Open and suitably support the hood assembly.
1	Windshield Wiper Arm Nut Cap Procedure Use a small flat-bladed tool to disengage the nut cap from the windshield wiper arm.
2	Windshield Wiper Arm Nut CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Procedure Carefully rock the windshield wiper arm from the windshield wiper transmission pivot shaft. Clean the knurls on the pivot shaft with a soft wire brush. When installing the new wiper arm onto the pivot shaft, align the wiper blade with the small line in the windshield lower blackout area. Hold the wiper arm in position while securing the wiper arm nut. Tighten 28 N.m (21 lb ft)
3	Windshield Wiper Arm Assembly Passenger Side Procedure Remove the windshield wiper blade. Refer to Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement (Terrain Passenger Side) .
