Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Steering Shaft Upper Bearing Spring Replacement

Tools Required
* J 38364 Steering Column Lock Plate Compressor
* J 42137 Steering Column Lock Plate Compressor Adapter

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the ignition lock cylinder case. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Case Replacement Ignition Lock Cylinder Case Replacement.




2. Remove and discard the steering shaft lock plate retaining ring using compressor J 38364 and adapter J 42137 .




3. Remove the following parts from the steering column:

1. The steering shaft upper bearing retainer
2. The steering shaft upper bearing spring
3. The steering shaft upper bearing

Installation Procedure




1. Install the following parts onto the steering shaft assembly:

1. The steering shaft upper bearing
2. The steering shaft upper bearing spring
3. The steering shaft upper bearing retainer




2. Install the new steering shaft lock plate retaining ring using compressor J 38364 and adapter J 42137 .
Ensure the steering shaft lock plate retaining ring is seated correctly on the steering shaft.
3. Install the ignition lock cylinder case. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Case Replacement Ignition Lock Cylinder Case Replacement.
