Symptoms - Engine Electrical: Notes

The following steps must be completed before using the symptom tables.

• Perform Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle (with HP2) , Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle (without HP2) before using the Symptom Tables in order to verify that all of the following are true:
  • The power modes are correct.
  • The control modules can communicate via the serial data link.
  • There are no DTCs set.
• Review the system descriptions and operations in order to familiarize yourself with the system functions. Refer to one of the following system operations:
  • Battery Description and Operation 
  • Charging System Description and Operation 
  • Starting System Description and Operation
