Bucket Seat Replacement

Bucket Seat Replacement

WARNING:

Refer to SIR Warning .

WARNING:

To avoid personal injury, perform a preload test on the passenger presence system whenever you remove or replace the seat cushion trim. Failure to do so may cause the system to malfunction.

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Remove the front seat belt anchor finish cover.
  2. Remove the front seat belt anchor plate bolt. Refer to Seat Belt Retractor Pretensioner Replacement - Front .
  3. Whenever the inflatable restraint passenger presence system or any component of the passenger presence system is removed. Refer to Passenger Presence System Programming and Setup
1 Front Seat Adjuster Bolt Finish Cover
TIP:  Use a small flat-bladed tool to release the tab in the rear of the cover.
2 Front Seat Adjuster Bolt Finish Cover
TIP:  Pull upward to release the retainer clip securing the cover to the seat adjuster.
3 Front Seat Assembly Bolt (Qty: 2)
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
45 N.m (33 lb ft)
4 Front Seat Assembly

Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Lift the seat upward at the rear of the seat.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors, if equipped. If the vehicle was previously repaired, which resulted in connector removal, cut wires at splice. Refer to LAMBDA SPLICE CLIP REPAIR for approved wiring procedure.
  4. Slide the seat rearward to disengage the adjuster hooks holding the seat to the floor pan.
  5. Perform the front seat track synchronization procedure before seat installation. Refer to Front Seat Track Synchronization
