Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the liftgate interior trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement (Traverse) , Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement (Enclave) , Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement (Acadia) .
  2. Disconnect the backup lamp and running lamp electrical connectors.
  3. Remove the screw (1) securing the lamp assembly bracket (2) to the rear auxiliary back up lamp assembly.
  4. Remove the bracket.

  5. Remove the auxiliary back up lamp assembly nuts (1).
  6. Disconnect the backup lamp bulb socket (2) and bulb (3).

  7. Pull the backup lamp assembly (2) from the outer liftgate filler panel.
  8. Remove the lamp assembly gasket (1).
