Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Replacement

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the air cleaner Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  2. Remove the hood release handle. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Handle Replacement .
  3. Remove the front compartment front sight shield. Refer to Front Compartment Sight Shields Replacement (Acadia)  or Front Compartment Sight Shields Replacement (Enclave)  or Front Compartment Sight Shields Replacement (OUTLOOK) .
1 Hood Latch Release Cable Bolt (Qty: 2)
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Tighten:  9 N.m (80 lb in)
2 Hood Latch Release Cable

Procedure

  1. Attach mechanic's wire to the existing cable to ease installation of the new cable.
  2. Release the cable from the latch assembly and pull through the dash panel.
  3. Disconnect the hood release cable from the hood latch by squeezing the hood release cable retainer.
