Circuit/System Testing

DIC Switches

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the DIC switch assembly.
  2. Verify all of the scan tool DIC Switch parameters are Inactive.
    • If not Inactive, replace the IPC.
  3. Ignition ON, install a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the DIC signal circuit and ground. Verify all of the scan tool DIC Switch parameters except the TRIP/FUEL parameter are Active.
    • If not Active, test the DIC signal circuit of the DIC switch assembly for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the IPC.
  4. Ignition ON, install a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the trip/fuel signal circuit and ground. Verify that the scan tool DIC TRIP/FUEL Switch parameter is Active.
    • If not Active, test the trip/fuel signal circuit of the DIC switch assembly for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the IPC.
  5. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the DIC switch assembly.

HUD Switches

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the HUD switch assembly.
  2. Verify all of the scan tool HUD Switch parameters are Inactive.
    • If not Inactive, replace the HUD.
  3. Ignition ON, install a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the signal circuit and ground. Verify all of the scan tool HUD Switch parameters are Active.
    • If not Active, test the signal circuit of the HUD switch assembly for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the HUD.
  4. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the HUD switch assembly.
