Circuit/System Testing
DIC Switches
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the DIC switch assembly.
- Verify all of the scan tool DIC Switch parameters are Inactive.
- If not Inactive, replace the IPC.
- Ignition ON, install a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the DIC signal circuit and ground. Verify all of the scan tool DIC Switch parameters except the TRIP/FUEL parameter are Active.
- If not Active, test the DIC signal circuit of the DIC switch assembly for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the IPC.
- Ignition ON, install a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the trip/fuel signal circuit and ground. Verify that the scan tool DIC TRIP/FUEL Switch parameter is Active.
- If not Active, test the trip/fuel signal circuit of the DIC switch assembly for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the IPC.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the DIC switch assembly.
HUD Switches
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the HUD switch assembly.
- Verify all of the scan tool HUD Switch parameters are Inactive.
- If not Inactive, replace the HUD.
- Ignition ON, install a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the signal circuit and ground. Verify all of the scan tool HUD Switch parameters are Active.
- If not Active, test the signal circuit of the HUD switch assembly for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the HUD.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the HUD switch assembly.
