Navigation Radio - Volume/Band/Stations Change
Bulletin No.: 07-08-44-022Date: September 20, 2007
TECHNICAL
Subject:
Radio Volume, Band and Stations Change By Themselves (Reprogram Navigation Radio)
Models:
2007-2008 GMC Acadia
with Navigation Radio (RPO U3R or UZR) and Rear Seat Audio Control (RPO RCA)
Condition
Some customers may comment that the radio volume, band and stations change by themselves.
Cause
This condition may occur when the customer has a large amount of bags, boxes or luggage in the rear cargo compartment. These items may press against the switches in the Rear Seat Audio (RSA) control, located on the right rear trim panel in the rear cargo compartment (callout 3 in the illustration above), and cause the condition listed above.
Correction
A revised calibration has been developed that directs the radio to ignore the RSA switch inputs when the vehicle is moving. Technicians are to reprogram the radio using SPS with the latest software available on TIS2WEB. Refer to the Service Programming System (SPS) procedures in SI. As always make sure your Tech 2(R) is updated with the latest software version.
