Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
IMPORTANT: Do not reuse the rocker cover gasket or the rocker arm cover bolt grommets.

  1. Install a NEW rocker arm cover gasket to the cover.
  2. Install NEW rocker arm cover bolt grommets to the cover, if necessary.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the rocker arm cover.
  5. Install the rocker arm cover bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  7. Install the PCV valve hose to the valve cover and rocker cover.

  9. Connect the power brake booster vacuum hose to the vacuum fitting.

  11. Position the engine wiring harness and bracket.
  12. Connect the ECT sensor electrical connector (5).
  13. Install the engine wiring harness clip bolt (4).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  15. Install the engine wiring harness bracket.
  16. Install the engine wiring harness bracket nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
