Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Install the fuel and EVAP bundle.
- Install the fuel and EVAP bundle nuts.
Tighten: Tighten the nuts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
- Connect the quick connect fittings to the EVAP canister.
- Install the EVAP line to the clips (2) on the fuel tank.
- Remove the caps from the fuel and EVAP lines.
- Connect the fuel and EVAP quick connect fittings. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar) .
- If equipped with 4WD, install the fuel line clip to the bracket on the transfer case.
- Install the fuel line clips to the brackets on the transmission.
- Install the fuel pipe bracket to the bellhousing stud.
- Install the fuel pipe bracket nut.
Tighten: Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the caps from the fuel rail.
- Connect the EVAP canister purge tube line (2). Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar) .
- Connect the fuel feed line (1) at the engine. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Metal Collar) .
- Install the fuel fill cap.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Single Battery) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Auxiliary Battery) in Engine Electrical.
- Perform the following procedure in order to inspect for leaks.
- Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF, for 2 seconds.
- Turn the ignition OFF for 10 seconds.
- Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
- Inspect for fuel leaks.
