Circuit/System Testing

IMPORTANT: If you cannot duplicate the condition, operate the vehicle within the conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records.

If there are any other DTCs set diagnose those first.
Attempt to start the engine.
- If the engine does not start refer to Engine Cranks but Does Not Run .
Verify the integrity of the air induction system and turbocharger intercooler pipes and hoses by inspecting for the following conditions:
- Damaged components
- Loose or improper installation
- An air flow restriction
- Any turbocharger pressure leak
- Water intrusion
  - If an abnormal condition is found, perform the necessary repairs.
Inspect for any condition that can reduce idle speed by increasing engine load.
- Incorrect torque converter clutch (TCC) operation
- Accessories that require additional torque to operate
- Restricted exhaust
- Mechanical conditions that limit engine speed
  - If any abnormal conditions are present, refer to Restricted Exhaust or Symptoms - Engine Mechanical .
