Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
IMPORTANT: Inspect input shaft bearing retainer for any nicks or cracks that may result in a leak. Replace as necessary.
  1. Position a NEW oil seal in input shaft bearing retainer.

  2. Using a suitable tool, install oil seal.
  3. Apply RTV sealer GM P/N 12345739 (Canadian P/N 10953472), or equivalent to inside edge of bearing retainer mating surface.

  4. Position input shaft bearing retainer.

    Align bearing retainer oil drain hole with drain hole in transmission housing.

  5. NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.

  6. Install input shaft bearing retainer bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten bolts to 14 N.m (10 lb ft).

  7. Install clutch actuator cylinder and bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb in)

  8. Install transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement .
  9. Lower vehicle.
