Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

IMPORTANT: Inspect input shaft bearing retainer for any nicks or cracks that may result in a leak. Replace as necessary.

Position a NEW oil seal in input shaft bearing retainer.

Using a suitable tool, install oil seal.
Apply RTV sealer GM P/N 12345739 (Canadian P/N 10953472), or equivalent to inside edge of bearing retainer mating surface.

Position input shaft bearing retainer.
Align bearing retainer oil drain hole with drain hole in transmission housing.

NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.

Install input shaft bearing retainer bolts.
Tighten: Tighten bolts to 14 N.m (10 lb ft).
Install clutch actuator cylinder and bolts.

Tighten: Tighten bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb in)
Install transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement .
Lower vehicle.
