Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
  2. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler tube. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve Cooler Tube Replacement .
  3. Remove the EGR cooler heat protector bolt (1) and protector (2).

  4. Disconnect the fuel rail pressure sensor electrical connector (4).
  5. Prior to removal, clean the fuel pressure sensor and surrounding area thoroughly with solvent, such as GM P/N 12377981 (Canadian P/N 10953463) or equivalent.
  6. Using compressed air, thoroughly blow dry the sensor and surrounding area.
  7. Remove the fuel pressure sensor (3).
