Installation Procedure

  1. Install the thermostats and seals (3).

    The rear thermostat has 2 vent valves. Install the vent valves towards the rear of the engine, as shown.

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution
  2. Position the thermostat housing (2) and tighten the fasteners (1) to 21 N.m (15 lb ft). 
  3. Install the oil fill tube. Refer to Oil Filler Tube Replacement .
  4. Install the water outlet tube. Refer to Water Outlet Tube Replacement (LMM) 
  5. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac-N-Fill)  or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill)
