Circuit/System Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 GMC Sierra, 2007 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, and 2007 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) converter controls emissions of non methane hydro carbons (NMHC), and soluble organic fraction (SOF). The DOC is also utilized to regenerate the exhaust particulate filter. The engine control module (ECM) monitors the exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensor 1 during regeneration to determine if regeneration temperatures are maintained.

If the ECM detects that the DOC cannot maintain a pre-determined temperature during a regeneration event this DTC may run and fail, and the regeneration event aborts.
