Intermediate Carrier Assembly Inspection

- Check the end play between the intermediate carrier assembly (1) and the thrust washer (2) at each pinion gear (3).
- If the end play exceeds specifications replace the intermediate carrier assembly.
Specification: The maximum end play is 1.01 mm (0.040 in).
- Inspect the bushing (1) for wear and damage.
- Measure the inside diameter (ID) of the bushing at dimension A.
- If the bushing ID exceeds specifications, replace the bushing.
Specification: The bushing maximum ID is 36.575 mm (1.4400 in)
