Input Shaft Pilot Bearing Replacement (Heavy Duty and Super Heavy Duty)

Preliminary Procedure: Ensure the bearing is installed squarely into the input shaft bore.
1	Transfer Case Input Shaft Pilot Bearing Retaining Ring Tip: The pilot bearing retaining ring must be removed and installed before and after the pilot bearing is replaced.
2	Transfer Case Input Shaft Pilot Bearing Tip: Using a suitable adapter and an arbor press, remove the input shaft pilot bearing by going through the front of the input shaft. Install the bearing using the large side of the DT-48212 . Press the bearing until the tool bottoms on the input shaft. Tip: The pilot bearing retaining ring must be removed and installed before and after the pilot bearing is replaced.

Tip:

Install the bearing using the large side of the DT-48212 .
