Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 GMC Sierra and 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: The gasket surface should be free of oil or other foreign material during assembly.

  1. Install a NEW CMP actuator magnet gasket (753) onto the CMP actuator magnet.
  2. Install the CMP actuator magnet (752) to the front cover.
  3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  4. Install the CMP actuator magnet bolts (751).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  5. Connect the engine harness electrical connector to the CMP actuator magnet.
  6. Install the water pump. Refer to Water Pump Replacement (LY6, L76 and L92) or Water Pump Replacement (LH6, LY2, LY5, and LMG) or Water Pump Replacement (LMM) or Water Pump Replacement (LU3) .
