Installation Procedure

  1. Install the lower control arm (4).
  2. Install the lower control arm bolts (3).
  3. Install the washers (2).
  4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  5. Install the lower control arm retaining nuts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten nuts to 175 N.m (129 lb ft).

  6. Install the torsion bars. Refer to Torsion Bar and Support Assembly Replacement (Bushing Style) .
  7. Install the lower ball joint in the steering knuckle.
  8. Install the wheel drive shaft. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (2500) .

  10. Install the lower ball joint retaining nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten nuts to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).

  11. Install the shock module. Refer to Shock Absorber Replacement (2500 Series) .
  12. Remove the support for the knuckle and upper control arm.
  13. Install the stabilizer shaft links to the lower control arm. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement (1500)  or Stabilizer Shaft Replacement (2500, 3500) .
  14. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  15. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
  16. Align the front end. Refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement .
