Circuit/System Testing (With Amplifier Except UQA+Y91)
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 GMC Sierra and 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the C3 harness connector.
- Turn the Ignition ON and radio ON.
- At the amplifier C3 harness connector, test for AC voltage between the left front low level audio signal (+) and left front low level audio signal (-).
- If AC voltage is not present, replace the radio.
- Disconnect the C1 amplifier harness connector.
- Connect a test lamp between the B+ circuit connector terminal 4 and ground. Verify the test lamp illuminates.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, repair open/high resistance.
- Connect a test lamp between the ground circuit connector terminal 8 and B+. Verify the test lamp illuminates.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, repair open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON and radio ON, test for greater than 9 volts on the remote enable signal circuit connector terminal 8.
- If less than specified value repair open/high resistance or replace the radio.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the amplifier.
