Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (JH6, JH7)

CAUTION: Refer to Brake Dust Caution . Preliminary Procedures Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle . Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation . Remove the rear brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (JD9) or Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (JH6, JH7) .
1	Park Brake Shoe Adjuster Spring
2	Park Brake Shoe Adjuster Procedure: Clean the threads and apply high temperature grease to the adjuster screw.
3	Park Brake Shoe Hold Down Spring (Qty: 2) Procedure: Compress the spring and rotate 1/4 turn to release.
4	Park Brake Shoe Hold Down Spring Pin (Qty: 2)
5	Park Brake Shoe Return Spring
6	Park Brake Shoe (Qty: 2) Procedure Use denatured alcohol to clean brake dust or grease from the park brake shoes and hardware. If reinstalling the park brake shoes, note the location of the park brake shoes for installation. Apply a small amount of high temperature silicone grease to the brake shoe and backing plate contact points. After the installation is complete, adjust the park brake. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment (Disc Brake) or Park Brake Adjustment (Drum Brake) .
