Preliminary Procedures Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling . If equipped, remove the console assembly. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement (without RPO SLT) or Front Floor Console Replacement (with RPO SLT) . Remove the instrument panel insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement (Without RPO SLT) or Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement (with RPO SLT) . Remove the windshield garnish molding. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement . Remove the instrument panel upper trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel with Windshield Defroster Nozzle Grille Replacement (without RPO SLT) or Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel with Windshield Defroster Nozzle Grille Replacement (with RPO SLT) . Remove the instrument panel inflatable restraint module. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL INFLATABLE RESTRAINT MODULE REPLACEMENT (WITH SLT)INSTRUMENT PANEL INFLATABLE RESTRAINT MODULE REPLACEMENT (WITHOUT SLT) . Remove the instrument panel outer trim covers. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement (without RPO SLT) or Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement (with RPO SLT) . Remove the instrument panel left and center air outlets. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Replacement - Left Side (without RPO SLT) or Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Replacement - Left Side (with RPO SLT) and Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Replacement (without RPO SLT) or Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Replacement (With RPO SLT) . Remove the instrument panel compartment assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement . Remove the instrument panel compartment closeout. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Access Hole Cover Replacement (without RPO SLT) or Instrument Panel Compartment Access Hole Cover Replacement (with RPO SLT) . Remove the instrument panel upper storage compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement . Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement (without RPO SLT) or Knee Bolster Replacement (with RPO SLT) . Remove the instrument panel lower center trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Center Trim Replacement . Remove the instrument panel cluster assembly. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement (without RPO SLT) or Instrument Cluster Replacement (with RPO SLT) . Remove the HVAC control module. Refer to HVAC Control Module Replacement . Remove the radio assembly. Refer to Radio Replacement (without RPO SLT) or Radio Replacement (with RPO SLT) .
1	Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel to Defroster Duct Screw (Qty: 2) NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice . Tighten: 2 N.m (18 lb in)
2	Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Screw (Qty: 7) Tighten: 9 N.m (80 lb in)
3	Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Screw (Qty: 10) Tighten: 2.5 N.m (22 lb in)
4	Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Assembly Tip: Note location and routing of the instrument panel wiring harness prior to removal of the instrument panel upper trim panel assembly to ensure proper reinstallation. Disconnect the wiring harness from the instrument panel upper trim panel assembly. With the aid of an assistant, remove the instrument panel upper trim panel assembly from the vehicle. If replacing the instrument panel upper trim panel assembly, transfer all necessary components.
