Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Savana Special, 2003 GMC Savana Camper Special, 2003 GMC Savana, 2003 Chevrolet RV Cutaway, and 2003 Chevrolet Cutaway.   1. Install the auxiliary battery tray to the vehicle.
    CAUTION: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  2. Install the auxiliary battery tray bolts to the battery tray.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the auxiliary battery tray bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install the auxiliary battery to the auxiliary battery tray.
    CAUTION: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  4. Install the auxiliary battery hold-down retainer bolt.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  5. Connect the auxiliary battery positive and negative cables. Refer to Battery Positive Cable Replacement - Auxiliary  and Battery Negative Cable Replacement - Auxiliary  .
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Install the front battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
