Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Savana Special, 2003 GMC Savana Camper Special, 2003 GMC Savana, 2003 Chevrolet RV Cutaway, and 2003 Chevrolet Cutaway. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Install the wiring harness (2) to the junction block base (3).
- Install the junction block base (3) to the floor studs.
Ensure the remaining electrical connections (4, 5) are not captured under the junction block base after installations the floor studs.
CAUTION: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems. - Install the junction block base nuts (1) to the floor studs.
Tighten
Tighten the block base nuts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).
- Install the junction block (1) to the junction block base.
Ensure the retaining tabs are fully seated.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts (2) to 5 N.m (44 lb in).
- Connect the electrical connectors (1), if equipped with YF7.
- Connect the positive battery cable (3) to the junction block.
- Install the positive battery cable nut (2).
Tighten
Tighten the nut to (2) to 10 N.m (88 lb in).
- Install the junction block cover (1).
- Install the drivers seat. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT .
- Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE .
