Removal Procedure

  1. Partially drain the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Engine Cooling .
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 4.3L or to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 4.8, 5.3, and 6.0L .
  3. Remove the heater hose clamps using the J-39529  .
  4. Remove the outlet heater hose from the outlet radiator hose connection.
  5. Remove the outlet heater hose from the heater core outlet.
