Installation Procedure

- Install the auxiliary HVAC module.
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle.CAUTION: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the retaining nuts to the underside of the auxiliary HVAC module.
Tighten
Tighten the auxiliary heater retaining nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Connect the heater lines to the underside of the auxiliary heater.
- Install the one retaining nut to the auxiliary evaporator underbody rear tube assembly to the core.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).
- Install the cover to the underside of the auxiliary HVAC module.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Connect the electrical connectors to the auxiliary HVAC module (1).
- Install the air distribution duct upper. Refer to Air Distribution Duct Replacement - Upper Auxiliary .
- Install the air distribution duct lower. Refer to Air Distribution Duct Replacement - Lower Auxiliary .
- Install the left rear corner garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Corner in Interior Trim .
- Install the left rear quarter trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Left Body Side in Interior Trim .
- Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
- Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Engine Cooling .
