Removal Procedure

Raise and support the vehicle.
Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
Remove the front tires and wheels. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Remove the outer tie rods retaining nuts.

Disconnect the outer tie rods from the steering knuckles using J-24319-B .

Mark the lower intermediate shaft to power steering gear alignment before removal.
Remove the lower intermediate shaft to power steering gear retaining bolt.
Disconnect the lower intermediate shaft from the power steering gear.

Disconnect the power brake booster outlet hose (2) and power steering gear outlet hose (1) from the power steering gear (3).
Cap the ends of the hoses and the power steering gear fittings in order to prevent the entrance of dirt.

Remove the power steering gear mounting bolts.
Remove the power steering gear from the vehicle.
