Installation Procedure

- Clean all corrosion or contaminates from the steering knuckle bore and the hub and bearing.
- Lubricate the steering knuckle bore with wheel bearing grease or the equivalent.
- Install the wheel hub and bearing and splash shield to the steering.

NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems. - Install the wheel hub and bearing mounting bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 180 N.m (133 ft lbs).
- Install the wheel speed sensor to the wheel hub and bearing.
- Install the wheel speed sensor mounting bolt to the wheel hub and bearing.
Tighten
Tighten the sensor mounting bolt to 18 N.m (13 ft lbs).
- Install the wheel driveshaft retaining nut and washer.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 210 N.m (155 ft lbs).
- Install the front axle hub cap.
- Install the rotor. Refer BRAKE ROTORS .
- Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels .
- Lower the vehicle.
