The following steps must be completed before using the symptom list.

Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK - ENGINE ELECTRICAL before using the SYMPTOM LIST in order to verify that there are no DTCs set and that the control module(s) can communicate via the serial data link.
