Flywheel Housing Removal

Tools Required

J 37228 Seal Cutter. See Special Tools .

Remove the turbocharger oil return pipe nuts from the top of the flywheel housing.
Remove the turbocharger oil return pipe studs.

IMPORTANT: The upper oil pan must be removed before removing the flywheel housing.

Remove the flywheel housing bolts.
Separate the flywheel housing from the cylinder block using J 37228 . See Special Tools .
Remove the flywheel housing.

Remove the turbocharger oil return pipe gasket from the flywheel housing.
Remove the oil cooler adapter bolts.
Remove the oil cooler adapter with gaskets.
